In 2009 the Evolution business celebrated 30 years of providing business software solutions to manufacturing enterprises around the world. A longevity which has bucked the boom and bust story of many of our contemporaries who have fallen by the wayside, their products long disappeared, victims of their own inability to respond to technical advances and changing market demands.

The innovative design of the Evolution product has enabled us to readily reflect and embrace new techniques and technologies from the advent of Windows, through the demands of Year 2000, to the challenge of the internet and web technology and latterly Business Process Management (BPM). Still at the core of our solution is robust, stable and relevant functionality upon which many manufacturing organisations rely to support the operational needs of their businesses.

Evolution is a ‘tiered’ product with discrete yet integrated layers separating the database from the business logic and the desktop interface. This design has enabled us to seamlessly, and without disruption to our customer’s systems, reflect new technology as it has evolved ensuring that our customers benefit from advances in a non-intrusive and incremental manner.

This separation of entities has also meant that the appearance and desktop content of the product can be easily and safely customised to reflect customer’s distinct processes and terminology without compromising the underlying business processes and logic.

In addition it has facilitated our unique two stage “implement for growth” strategy which means that customers can evolve from the transaction based application to the fully process oriented solution and be secure in the knowledge that they can plan the transition and enjoy the very real benefits to be realised at their own pace, to coincide with the realisation of business goals and milestones.

To reflect this strategy we have layered our product information accordingly, to enable prospective and existing customers to gain universal experience of the breadth and depth of Evolution. Functionality addresses the business logic and application layer which is augmented by Internet and Automation to describe the web based desktop and information intelligence products and finally Business Processes which details the extensive portfolio of enterprise wide business processes all of which are fronted by intuitive, role based portals.
